| Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. At the end of the second installment Dead Man’s Chest, Jack Sparrow the hero-villain protagonist of the story was devoured whole by the Kraken, a mythical beast called upon by the Flying Dutchman (a ghost ship with its crew cursed to sail forever to ferry the dead people crossing the world to the afterlife). The Kraken is in the form of a giant octopus that devours whole ships to do its master’s bidding. Furthermore, the crew of the Flying Dutchman was enslaved by the British East India Company under Lord Beckett and was ordered to capture or all other pirates.
Due to this predicament, the number of pirates started to dwindle, until finally the signal of the end of piracy was sung. Thus, the Council of Pirates must be convened to know what measures to take. Jack Sparrow being one of the pirate lords was a must to be returned to the earth. However, Jack cannot be brought back by simple sorcery as he was trapped in Davy Jones’ locker, a limbo of endless plain without any vegetation. The crew of Barbossa set out to journey to the underworld to fetch Jack. On the way back, the crew had to do the outrageous actually make the boat capsize so as to escape the endless sea of the underworld.
