Digital Camera, Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera


Canon launches its PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD. Equipped with a 20x Optical Zoom lens with a focal length of 5.0-100mm (35mm equivalent: 28-560mm), it allows taking any scene from wide-angle to telephoto. It utilizes a VCM (Voice Coil Motor) for high-speed, quiet, energy-efficient lens movement with accurate control. The SX20IS features Optical Image Stabilizer Technology that automatically spots and corrects camera shake that even when zoomed in, a steady, crisp, brilliant images can be captured. This camera functions well with or without a flash. The camera’s 12.1 megapixels of resolution provides the photography an unparalleled depth and guarantees that any section of any shot can be enlarged and cropped with no loss in quality when the image is edited even when printing the same. It is capable of creating crisp and clear 13 x 19-inch posters. Its large 2.5” Vari-angle LCD facilitates easy viewing. The 2.5" Purecolor System LCD screen features Night Display for easy viewing in low light conditions. Also, it has an electronic viewfinder that gives brilliant images when shooting close-up with Super Macro shooting mode.

It is capable of recording video in high definition (1280 x 720 pixels) with stereo sound. HD movies and still photos can be enjoyed on HDTV with its mini-HDMI connector for direct connection to a high-definition monitor. Its improved Smart AUTO feature intelligently selects the right settings for the camera based on its 22 predefined shooting situations. It also features DIGIC 4 Image Processor that provides faster and more accurate noise reduction to deliver better image quality even at high ISO speeds. This technology is combined with Canon’s iSaps technology (a scene-recognition technology) to improve focus, speed and accuracy, including exposure and white balance. This camera is also equipped with UD glass that effectively suppresses chromatic aberration. With the inclusion of a double-sided aspherical glass-molded lens and ultra-high refraction index lens, aberration is further controlled.
