| BlackBerry Pearl 3G is the first BlackBerry mobile that is designed with a standard 14 key alphanumeric layout rather than a QWERTY keyboard. It combines the form factor of Blackberry Bold 9700 with its curved chrome accents together with traditional BB Pearl line design. The BB Pearl 3G is considered as the lean and mean email machine of the BlackBerry family. It is very light at 3.3 ounces or 93g and measures only 13.3mm thick thus easily slips into any pocket or bag. It comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera that has both LED flash and auto focus located at the side of the Pearl logo on the rear while the screen is a 360 x 400 pixel color display coming in at 2.2-inches.
Notwithstanding its small size and weight, BB Pearl 3G is still able to pack in support for high-speed 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) networks, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) and GPS together with a 624 Mhz processor with 256 MB Flash memory that delivers spectacular images on its high-resolution display. The menu system on the BB Pearl is icon driven. It uses an optical trackpad for smooth navigation of the icons on the display. It features a dedicated volume and media keys for added convenience and support for up to 32 GB of personal content. It is powered by V5.0 of the BlackBerry OS that offers support for multitasking. BB Pearl 3G also features social networking including Facebook and Twitter, as a standard, and BlackBerry email and messaging. It comes bundled with a Li-Ion 1150 mAh with a stand-by time of up to 432 hours (2G) or up to 312 hours (3G); up to 5.5 hours (2G) or up to 5 hours (3G) of talk time; and up to 30 hours of music play.
